Does anyone care about the music video?

“My favorite way” by Black Drawing – Bicicleta Sem Freio
I care, I really do, deep in my heart there is a piece of me that never would have ended up making film if not for the format of the music video.
Sadly many years now have only produced maybe one or two a year that have any resonance. There is no financial model or it. It is only when a moment of “art” comes to the medium that it becomes interesting.
If Art (capitol A) has a monetary system that works, at least in some way, perhaps it is the model that we will have to take on for this sort of publishing.
A heightened document of a musical performance, the cover of the album, the light-show for the concert. The website has replaced much of this but seems to lack. If the conduit for secondary information is the website, the it will need more of the qualities of the music video, or the book, or the posters on the wall : context.. the website is a bit like looking at fine art in one’s own closet; it only becomes interesting if the “fine art” is perhaps stolen in someway (already a heightened experience).
So
What is it that makes a music video cut through the muck? Something that reaches out though the medium to confront the zeitgeist? To be presented most anywhere and feel new and not of the norm..

more dogfood
ok
so two days of web pain
but the system is pretty good
there are a few problems
like the dynamic-ness of it is a bit of a put off really

well day two here
and so far I am liking the Chryp
I have been able to modify and customize well, with few major fuckups
now
get the header to hold the catagories
attempt an addition of processing
and a little HTML5
and maybe we are good to go
(fingers crossed)

In this case I am talking about web sites
after a few days of searching for a system for building web sites
I have settled for now on Chryp
I am not happy that it is PHP based but everything else was either too complicated or too simple
I wanted something that I could use for both myself and for clients
indexhibit was very nice but inflexible (and also PHP… sigh)
and I could not find something that was developed enough but dead simple developed in Ruby which was something I really wanted
sadly it’s also MySQL based and I had really wanted something flatfile based
better to move forward
